Julie Rose Vilvandre · French and Chinese interpreter · Shanghai

Field support and cultural mediation across China.

For researchers, institutions and curious travelers, I organize the logistics, access and interpreting that make fieldwork in China possible. KHORA means pilgrimage in Tibetan: a path taken on foot, with respect for the land and its people.

About KHORA

KHORA (kora): a Tibetan word meaning pilgrimage. It is the circuit walked around a sacred place. A path taken on foot, with respect for the land and its people.

Julie Rose Vilvandre

Founder & Director · Based in China

Since 2023, I have spent months in the field: with the Mosuo in Yunnan, Tibetan families in Gansu, Tajik and Kazakh households in Xinjiang, and a Zen monastery in Jiangxi, where I wrote my thesis in Chinese. KHORA brings that access, and that care, to your project.
